Since the team have arrived home from Belgium it has been an opportunity for me to concentrate on producing 5 year old Eddie ready for next year.

We have attended a couple of local clear rounds to start building his confidence away from home, getting used to travelling, warming up and jumping straight around a course with fillers etc.

He has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of weeks and a trip to Chard on October 16th 2016 saw him come 4th in the 80cm club class and have 8f in the 90cm British Novice. He jumped two super rounds with no spookiness, just making a couple of baby mistakes when he needed to lengthen or shorten.

The week after saw us take a trip to Kingston Maurward College for his first ever indoor show. I was extremely happy with how well he coped with the atmosphere of being indoors and he jumped a super clear round in the 85cm open. I chose to put him in the 90cm British Novice class as well and he jumped a super clear in the first round over a very testing technical track comprising of a number of fences on dog legs and tight related distances. A fence down in the jump off cost us a qualifying place at the Blue Chip Championships but there is still plenty of time for us to improve and work towards bigger and better things.

Another couple of quiet weeks ahead now doing plenty of schooling at home to build strength and muscle tone in order to improve rhythm and regularity.
