Heartbreak

So it's taken me a week to finally write down the heartbreak I suffered last Friday competing at Chard.

Unfortunately my superstar Zarina suffered an injury that has guaranteed her out of work for at least a year and long term potentially will see her retire from competition.

Theres so many of you that have followed our journey and watched us progress, it's been amazing to have the support of you all.

A horse that I so nearly sent back in the first week because she was so wild, I persevered and with the support of the best trainers in the business Corinne Bracken, Matt Lanni and John Ledingham we've succeeded at things I'd only ever dreamt of.

Jumping double clear in our first 1.40m Grand Prix at Bicton to come 3rd, Winning at the Global Championships in London, jumping clear in our first Hickstead Speed Derby and competing internationally in Belgium are to name just a few of our highlights.

Its taken 10 years of graft but there is truly no other horse that I would have rather stepped into the ring on, she had a heart of a lion and would be guaranteed to jump anything I pointed her at.

I will miss her grit and determination so much; but maybe not hanging on for dear life every time I school her at home!

As one chapter closes, another begins and I'm already on the look out for my next superstar. They certainly have the worlds biggest shoes to fill!!

Here's to the start of the hard work to get back to the top again with the support of my amazing support crew and sponsors.

For now the Princess is getting thoroughly spoilt and considerations being made for breeding some of her own mini devils.
